Self empowerment-
When you stop letting negative opinions have power over you, especially ones that have no business swaying you in the first place, you stop the pattern of self doubt. You increase your limits, and start living up to your potential. When your head is no longer ringing with your past mistakes, or what others say your weaknesses are, the voices of encouragement and self appreciation become eager to talk some sense into your soul. Listen to those voices above all else. Speak with that same uplifting tone to others, and especially to yourself. I hope." I was inspired tonight by one of my favorite photographers. Not surprising as i am always inspired by his work, but it was a story i saw of him caring for his son and going on adventures with him. We had a short exchange in which I thanked him for being a good father to his boy, and showed my appreciation for him putting his heart into his work and the people around him. I told him that its tough and maybe overwhelming at times, because of the world around us, as i strive to put my heart into the things i do as well. This quote was his response, because i think its beautiful, even just being a response to someone he's never met.

If you haven't yet, give your dad a call. Maybe a father figure, grandpa, someone you look up to. Maybe a friend thats a father. Even if that figure is someone you don't necessarily get along with or talk to often, just give it a shot. I'm fortunate enough to have a great dad, but I know not everyone does. Some dads aren't alive anymore, some aren't in their kids lives for one reason or another. So just keep that in your heart if you are fortunate enough to have your father around. Go give them a call, spend a little time with them (maybe alot) if you can. Not just on fathers day but any day.

Inner Battles-
I'm tired of fighting with myself. I've grown, and i'm not the same person i was even a year ago, not remotely. Simultaneously, I've become more myself than I ever have been. But still I feel that feeling of not being enough and not living up to what I should be. I still hear that nagging voice that reminds me of my mistakes and tells me i'm not allowed to be imperfect. These battles are often fought in my own mind, without anyone elses knowledge. But I know i'm not alone. I know that is the majority of battles fought on a daily basis, the war within one's self. How do we win? I haven't completely figured that out. But I know what helps-making sure the voices of encouragement and self love ring louder than the ones that tell you you're not worth it. So if you are fighting those battles every single day like me, I hope this helps you know you arent alone. And maybe it will push you along towards loving yourself a little more. It's time to befriend yourself.
